Eco-Yoga: Savannah Style

Last week Haberdashery Eco Fashion Supply teamed up with Savannah Yoga Co-Op instructor Christine Harness to create some super stylish, functional and eco-friendly yoga gear.

Christine and I sat down to design her dream yoga ONESIE-

First: We mixed fashion forward design with functionality. The trendy jumpsuit style was a perfect idea for yoga since all of that upside down action- Any of us who have moved from downward facing dog to plank then into cobra and back again, know what I mean.

Second: We chose a wonderfully chic and slinky soft fabric-a
sustainable bamboo/modal/spandex blend knit jersey. The wonderful stretch combined with a luxurious drape made this fabric perfect for yoga wear. Also the heather charcoal gray color was versatile yet contemporary- a nice change from plain old black.

Third: We discussed how this garment would need to function. Cap sleeves gave some shoulder coverage, the reverse box pleated detail on the bodice was fashionable and functional as it gave some abdominal support, as did the cross grain yoke that helps to hold in the tummy- helping to pull in and focus on the core. Drawstring harem style pant made it easy to prevent riding up.

All in all, Christine is ready to teach in style! You can get your very own "Christine" bodysuit custom made from Haberdashery at www.habsav.com in our online store or stop in to see Ashley, the haberdasher herself, at 311 West Broughton Street, Studio 1, (behind Satchel) by email at info@habsav.com, message us on facebook or follow us on twitter to customize your own!!!! Also keep your eyes peeled for more great yoga wear coming soon to the Savannah Yoga Co-Op store!
